EVERY HOME OR BUILDING I TOUCHED WAS LEFT BETTER SHAPE THAN WHEN I FOUND IT!
It was the time of my life. I can still hear my dad saying, back when I was in my early teens: โYou know, you could fix up these HUD homes.โ
At the time, I asked, โWhatโs a HUD?โ Little did I know those words would spark a journey that led me through 12 full renovation projects across eastern Iowa to Florida.
Iโll never forget the day a utility service man โ who had turned services on and off for my projects over the years โ looked at me when I said I was moving to Florida. He shook his head and said,
โDo you realize youโve made a difference in three counties here with your rehabs?โ
That moment stopped me in my tracks. These projects werenโt just about new siding or fresh paint. Every home I touched โ whether it needed a roof, plumbing, electrical, or a full rebuild โ was left in better shape than when I found it. And thatโs something Iโll always carry with me.
These projects werenโt just houses โ they were stories of renewal. The photos below show a few of those transformations.
This was my pride and joy starting out in Anamosa, Iowa โ just outside Cedar Rapids.
Every property has a story. This 8,000 SF mixed-use building, with four apartments above and three commercial units below, was one of my biggest projects. From neglected to renewed, the transformation shows whatโs possible with the right vision and dedication.
The exterior was outdated and uninviting, with worn siding and little curb appeal.
Fresh siding, new finishes, and updated design gave the building new life, making it both functional and appealing for tenants and the community.
Beyond commercial spaces, Iโve also renovated residential properties, like this home in Monticello, Iowa. The house had dated siding and a worn exterior that lacked curb appeal, and the inside reflected the same need for updates.
With fresh siding, new finishes, and a clean modern look, the home was completely transformed, boosting curb appeal and value
This home in Council Bluffs, Iowa, was my very first rehab project. After a flash fire, the property had been gutted down to the studs and stood in need of a complete rebuild.
Through my first full fix-and-flip, I brought the home back to life with a full restoration โ new siding, fresh finishes, and renewed curb appeal. It became the project that launched my path into many more successful renovations.
This Riverton home had been gutted down to the studs after severe water damage and termite infestation. When I first walked in, it was nothing but framing โ a shell in need of complete rebuilding.
When I first walked in, the house was stripped to its bones โ every wall exposed, requiring a complete rebuild from the inside out.
Through a full fix-and-flip, I rebuilt the structure, restored the finishes, and renewed the curb appeal. What began as a shell became a home ready for new life.
